: The MESS ti99 driver is wonderful !

Any special reason this is titled MESS vs Ami99?

I was very impressed with MESS as well, as it works, and works great. However, DOS programs don't work well under NT (no sound being the most common), and no guarantees under Win2000. So we still need MESS32.

I haven't worked much on Ami99 lately - the work I did was mostly driven on the feedback I got. Since most of the issues that generated feedback are resolved, I guess I can stop feeling guilty about not working on it.

It's as frustrating for me as for you all that Ami99 is buggy and incomplete.. but it really takes a lot of time and a lot of work. I'm perfectly happy to let MESS32 take the cake when it's done (possibly modifying the disk routines for FIAD ;) ). That's the beauty of open source. ;)

I'd help with MESS32, since I've fought through so much of the Windows/DirectX API already, but my email was never answered.

Thanks for all the positive feedback I did receive.. for a little while it was nice. I'll prolly keep poking at it from time to time, I mean, heck, I started this program in '94 and the only reason it was ressurrected was because I found a stash of old floppies, one of which had the original source code (with no header files!)

But, it'll probably continue to drift towards the bottom of the pile again.
