: : : I just upgraded to an AMD K6-2 450 with a 3dfx
: : :voodoo3 graphics card under Windows 95 (OSR2).
: : :Now, when I start v9t9, the initial screen
: : :colors are off. The image is there but mostly
: : :in dark reds, browns and blacks.
: : I just wanted to confirm that I've seen this once in a while, on various video cards I've had... but also that it's gone away so I don't know what caused it. I'd be curious if anyone finds out.
: : In the meantime, Dave, make sure you have the latest 3DFX VooDoo3 drivers and DirectX (which Windows uses all over the place). I have a Voodoo3 and v9t9 does work on mine.
: I'd like to confirm that I have this same graphics error when using V9T9 in pure DOS mode OR in a DOS box. I've yet to figure out what it is either. I believe it has something to do with how V9T9 uses the VESA standard to display its screen info (at least, I believe it uses VESA). Perhaps it also has something to do with refresh rates. Unfortunately, getting the latest version of Sci-Tech and the latest video card BIOS chip for my beleaguered Number9 Imagine128 Series II 8 MB VRAM did not help at all. Wish Ed was around to hypothesize.
I've finally solved the problem. I got the v9t9 upgrade to recognize faster chips (available on this site) and the color problem was fixed. Don't know what one has to do with the other, but it worked for me.
