: I recall reading in the v9t9's accompanying speech document that the guy who made v9t9 said something to the effect that the speech emulation could emulate speech as long as it was part of the ROM image, and that on a faster computer the speech doesn't sound so bad. So does that mean that the speech info within Parsec, Alpiner, etc. can be emulated and heard? I recall reading another message on this board that someone got speech to work. Can anyone explain how to get speech to work? How do I set up the configuration files for v9t9?
Speech works on my v9t9 with the game Bingo call and alpiner. I do not recall any others, may have been some. You must start the emulator in DOS mode. Shut down windows and restart in DOS. The speech is not very good and in the Bingo game many of the letters, numbers sound the same. Not really worth messing with in my opinion. I think a fix to get Donkey Kong, Pac-man, Mrs. Pac-man running is a more inportant fix. I have this fix but have not checked it out yet partly due to my emachine going bad, twice and having to ship it back twice.
