Hex bus adapter and peripherals.

Postby dave1z » January 27th, 2011, 9:46 pm

Hello,
I guess I'm one of the first here on the "NEW" boards. :) Anyway the question I have is whether or not anyone has ever been able to dissect a Hex Bus adapter for the /4a so that someone might be able to work on emulating it. The reason I ask is that I would like to see such an emulator included in MESS so that the 99/8 might actually be useful. Also has anyone ever dumped a 99/8 eprom that has the p-code option intact?
Thanks in advance.

P.S. There is a hex bus adapter currently for sale on fleabay.

I have a 99/8 with the p-Code GROMs installed, but it will not successfully enter the p-System from the main menu. I'll have to test my other 99/8 to see if it will work, since it has them as well. On the hex-Bus peripheral, the entire source code for the device was up on the WHT FTP site the last time I looked. The internal logic of the OSO chip (the Hexbus controller) from the 99/8 is also up there, so it should be able to replicate it inside the MESS emulation.
